The California Acceleration Project's Fourth Annual Conference

Event Description:

This is the California Acceleration Project's fourth annual conference showcasing how community colleges are transforming placement, curricula, pedagogy, and support services to increase student completion and equity in English, math, and ESL. This conference is intended for faculty, administrators, researchers, system leaders, policymakers and advocates from within and outside California.

Conference Information:

February 27, 2020: Pre-Conference Workshops (10:00-5:00)

February 28-29, 2020: Main Conference (9:00-4:15, both days with a reception on Friday from 4:30 to 6:00)

Pre-Conference Workshop Information:

This year, we are offering a series of workshops for math, English, or ESL faculty. The $75 registration fee covers a full day of workshops plus lunch. Please select the "English/ESL" or "math" ticket. Then select which workshop you would like to attend in the morning and which you would like to attend in the afternoon.

Hotel Information:

A limited block of rooms has been reserved for February 27th and 28th at the DoubleTree Sacramento for a reduced group rate of $179/night plus taxes/fees. Book by Monday, January 27, 2020 to receive the group rate. When the block sells out, there will be no more discounted rooms.

Additionally, we have negotiated a parking rate of $10/day for day use and overnight guests.

Registration/Payment Information:.

• $300 for the main conference (+ $19.98 Eventbrite fee) Early bird registration price available until January 27th. Price goes up to $350 + $22.94 Eventbrite fee on January 28th
• $75 for the pre-conference workshops (+ $6.20 Eventbrite fee) (includes morning and afternoon session)

Registrations must be paid by credit card through the Eventbrite registration site. We are unable to invoice for this event. In case of cancellation, refunds will be available through Eventbrite until February 20, 2020. No refunds will be issued after this date.

Meals:

Lunch will be provided for pre-conference participants on Thursday and for all participants Friday and Saturday. Additionally, a continental breakfast will be served on Friday and Saturday. There will also be a reception on Friday evening. Dinner is on your own each day.
